
A five-year-old boy in India named Saroo becomes separated from his older brother and, after falling asleep on an empty train, is carried thousands of kilometers to Calcutta. Unable to speak the local Bengali language or identify his hometown, he survives on the streets for months before being placed in an orphanage and adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, as an adult, he uses Google Earth to search for his lost family across the Indian subcontinent.
